Project with refugees in Izmir:
Collecting clothes and furniture to distribute to refugees
Producing furnitures with recyclable materials
Providing Latin alphabet lessons to refugee children
Visiting people in the district

Location of activities: Izmir (Torbalı, Kadifekale, Agora, Ballıkuyu)

History and description:
Starting period: 2015
Main concern: TOG foundation organizes in universities. Volunteers of Tog create projects about things that they see as a problem in local and make solutions.

After being alerted by the conditions of living of refugees in Urla, volunteers of TOG from the Institute of Technology (Izmir) started to think about a way to act in favor of them. In particular, they were alarmed by refugees’ children schooling problems. The projects aim at providing Latin alphabet lessons to them to enable children’s education process and adaptation. They plan also reproduce urgent needs(such as furniture, daily use stuff) with recyclable materials to experience with refugees.
